Jungle by sturmfrei Palolem

The hostel stayed clean and well maintained throughout my visit. Even though it was off-season, it was still lively because I met some great people and had a really good time. I’d planned to extend my workation, but they were fully booked for the next few days. I came to Palolem looking for somewhere that worked for remote work, and Jungle Hostel delivered. There’s an air-conditioned work den, though I personally preferred working on the terrace, looking out at the sea and listening to the waves. I’ll definitely return.

It was a comfortable stay, and the staff were courteous and very helpful. Palolem Beach is nearby, about 500 metres away. I’d have given it five stars if there had been parking on site. Parking in Palolem is expensive, and we paid around 1,000 rupees for two days at a nearby public pay-and-park. Still, a good stay.

Chiki, the sweet and affectionate dog, was a highlight, do say hello to her. I also appreciated Miss Rashi, the Property Manager, for organizing activities and making friendly conversation. The place is right beside Palolem Beach, just a minute’s walk, which is nice for a morning jog or a quiet evening. Most amenities were easy to find, and the rooms were consistently neat, with the cleaning staff doing a GREAT WORK. The hosts were amiable and it felt like good value. A table tennis setup or Jenga would make the recreation options even better.

The rooftop had separate work cabins and space for board games, and there’s also an in-house cafe. I stayed in a 10-bed dorm. The room was spacious, with basic amenities, a tidy bed, and a hygienic washroom. Staff were friendly and courteous. Palolem Beach is only a minute away, and there’s a small nearby market with plenty of restaurants and cafes, plus a connection to Madgaon bus stand.
