The central city location was a big plus, with transport easy to find for places like Vishnu Nivasam and the Tirumala Temple. We stayed for two nights and three days, and the tidy room had plenty of space. Breakfast was great, and the stay felt worth the price. It's a 3-4 star property, so don't expect 5 star comfort or everything to be perfect.

The room smelled bad as soon as we walked in, and there were cockroaches all over the bathroom. Several amenities didn't work, including the TV, and although we'd booked a king-size bed, we got a queen-size one with no explanation. Check-in was bad too: the receptionist was rude and unprofessional, we weren't treated properly, and nobody helped with our luggage. I had an extremely frustrating two-day stay at Kences Hotel. It doesn't deserve its 3-star rating. The experience was stressful and not worth the money, and I felt misled by that rating. I strongly don't recommend it to anyone visiting Tirupati unless cleanliness, maintenance, and staff behavior improve drastically.

Dinner with family was memorable, and the breakfast buffet area had a lovely morning feel. The buffet breakfast and lunch or dinner are available, and the food tasted good. They welcomed us with a drink, and the room service was excellent. There is a lift and an underground BAR, plus running hot water and rooms with very cold air conditioning.

We spent one night in suite 401 and another in executive room 328. In both bathrooms, ventilation was poor and there was no exhaust fan. The water wasn't hot enough, and complaining didn't get it resolved. Fixtures were rusty, and the bathrooms didn't feel worthy of a 3-star hotel. The rooms are dated and dim, and the washrooms need a major upgrade, though cleanliness and breakfast were good. Hotel Kences was disappointing this time and isn't maintained as well as it was under Fortune group. Staff are cordial but seem to expect tips for even small tasks. Food and in-room dining cost a lot for the quality and taste. It was an underwhelming stay and I wouldn't recommend it. There are newer options like Golden Tulip and Pai Viceroy.

We had a very enjoyable stay in Tirupati. The rooms were spacious and clean, the reception staff were accommodating, and service was good. Dining room service arrived faster than at many hotels in this class, so thanks for being prompt. Breakfast was complimentary, very good, and had plenty of variety. There's also enough parking. Highly recommended.
