The Inglewood Bungalow

We were glad to find such a peaceful, scenic spot, with restaurants and adventure parks nearby. My friend and I made a quick weekend trip to Yercaud and stayed at Inglewood Bungalow. It’s an old, beautiful bungalow that’s been very well looked after, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Guests can explore the 40 acre estate, and the view is breathtaking. Ranjit was welcoming and took care of what we needed. The food was homely and good. We had a really pleasant time and would love to return. I’d recommend it if you’re after a calm stay with lovely scenery.

The property itself is pleasant, with plants and plenty of space around the bungalow, and the entrance has a mesh door that keeps insects and worms out. We found the water dispenser useful. Still, for what we paid, the stay felt extremely expensive. The road in is a narrow single lane, which is difficult if a two-wheeler comes the other way. Some things inside need attention too: one single room had no ventilation windows, while the other was fine. The double room had one large bathroom, which would be more practical split into two for four guests. Their dogs were loose. They caused no trouble, but some guests may be uncomfortable with that. The dishes are washed and left outside where dogs or other animals can reach them, and that should be avoided. The toiletries didn't look good, even though the bottles had brand stickers. The regular caretaker was away, but Mr Vairamuthu managed things well. The cook and caretaker weren't there, so we couldn't get tea or coffee when we wanted, and the substitute couldn't make good tea. Breakfast from the hotel was okay. There wasn't a good dinner menu, so we didn't order. The campfire was arranged well, though it was costly.

We spent a lovely time in Yercaud. It was peaceful, a little outside the city, and we could hear animal sounds around us. Ranjeet and the cook akka made us feel comfortable. Breakfast was superb and homemade, and we had tea several times because it tasted so good. The room was spacious. Only drawback was the signal.

A calm, peaceful spot, and we were lucky enough to see several peacocks around the property. Our room was spacious and comfortable, just as advertised, and it felt like a great place for a family stay. Ranjith was especially hospitable. His tea really made our day. I'd suggest staying here for a happy getaway.
