Parsian Hamedan

An amusement park near the hotel meant we could hear screams and shouts from our room. During our stay there was also a seminar, and the restaurant changed its service hours, so when we got hungry we ended up eating street food nearby. To me, this hotel is below the standard of four-star places in Tehran, Mashhad, or Shiraz.

The main advantage was the location. There was a much better hotel about 200 meters away for the same price. I’d stayed at another four-star hotel in Hamedan at the same price before, and Parsian hotel felt more like a low-grade hostel than a hotel. In Persian, my short version is that this was a guesthouse, or perhaps a little worse, and that better hotels could be found nearby for the same amount. The rooms were cramped. Even in a two-bed room there wasn’t space to put three suitcases beside the bed. The bathroom was the oldest and probably dirtiest I’ve seen. The walls were so thin that we could hear people talking in neighboring rooms, and anyone in the corridor could hear conversations inside. Service was poor, too. There were no free parking spaces even though most rooms seemed empty, so we and almost all the other guests had to park outside. Towels weren’t changed automatically each day; you had to ask. The internet was probably the worst part. For a so-called four-star hotel, the connection was terribly limited. After downloading 40-50 MB, we’d lose all our daily traffic, and had to call reception each time to recharge it. I probably called about 10 times a day, even though we weren’t using Instagram, YouTube, or other data-heavy apps. The restaurant was below average, and the food arrived cold in our room. It was bad enough that we ordered from restaurants farther away, and their food arrived warmer than the meal from the hotel restaurant. It was probably the worst stay I’ve ever had.

I was in Hamedan on a business trip and stayed here. With Corona around, I was very particular about everything being disinfected, and I have to say it was wonderful. I used the hotel facilities without worrying. The service, staff's behavior, and quality of service were all great. Thank you, everyone.
