I arrived late, so I put up with one night, but I was meant to stay three and left at 6 AM. The rooms were so dirty that I didn’t unpack. Tiny 3-4 mm cockroaches crawled in the bathroom and wall cracks, and odd noises kept me awake. I worried they might be bedbugs or worse. I slept curled up fully dressed with my scarf on, then woke with 3-4 pimples on my neck, probably from the bedding. I changed rooms four times because none of the toilets worked. In one, the artificial chemical smell was overwhelming and made me nauseous, yet the room still wasn’t clean. The floors were dusty enough to turn my bare feet black. The sheets, quilts and pillows smelled faintly of sweat and had hair on them, as if the bed had only been rearranged. The bathroom smelled bad and had visible stains and grime. I had to specifically demand toilet paper, and there were no towels or slippers. When towels finally came, they smelled bad too. Tap water tasted bitter and metallic, so brushing my teeth was difficult. The fridge was empty, without even water or a snack. Breakfast was poor, with stale hard bread and no decent choices. Nothing seemed fresh. The front desk staff were cold and rude, with no hospitality. If it hadn’t been so late when I got there, I’d have left right away. A complete disaster, never again. Avoid it.

This place felt more like a barn than a hotel or inn. The rooms were old and dirty, with grimy walls, a dirty toilet and leftover food. People were rude, and drinks from the fridge cost a huge amount. I also heard strange noises while trying to sleep. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Breakfast was kingly, and the rooms were fresh and pretty clean. We spent four convenient days here, and the staff and service felt better than you might expect from a three-star hotel. Talaghani subway station is only a two-minute walk away. The one thing I didn’t like was hearing people in the corridors. In our case, changing to a room on another floor fixed that.

They charge what I’d expect from a four-star hotel, but this is only two-star quality. Definitely not worth the price.
