Stormur Cottages

Waking up with horses just a few yards away made the stay especially memorable. The cottages sit on a beautiful horse farm with lovely scenery, and ours was charming and just right for a couple. The bed was comfortable, the kitchenette had what we needed, and the bathroom was clean. We stayed one night in June 2022 after a long day sightseeing along the Ring Road. We booked through AirBnB, and the owners were quick to respond. Highly recommended.

The family running this place was really friendly, and the mountain and landscape views were wonderful. Our cottage had a nice bathroom with a shower, plus a kitchenette with what we needed, including a Senseo machine, a kettle, and two hot plates. There were two beds, which worked well with a child. A fantastic place to stay in the fjords region.

This was our least favorite of the places we stayed during five nights in Iceland. We tried to find it on Tripadvisor but couldn't, so I'm leaving this on Google. The cottage was very small, with damaged roller blinds and other things like that. It wasn't the cheapest, yet it felt like it was. The many house rule signs, such as taking off your shoes, not using too much warm water, and not using too much wifi data, made the welcome feel pretty cold. I saw other very positive reviews on Google, so maybe we were just unlucky. Based on our stay, though, it felt as if the owners mainly wanted to make money and didn't really want to welcome guests. They need guests to earn money, after all.

Everything was nice and new, and the views were awesome. Great spot to stay, I'd recommend it.
