It was my first visit to Iceland, and I had a wonderful time. The apartment was modern and had the basics you'd expect at home, including a stove, fridge, private shower, cutlery, and cooking utensils. The area around it was beautiful, and people were friendly. I'd definitely stay there again.

The quiet setting made for great sleep, and our kids loved tossing stones into the river and exploring. We were there for six nights in June with our four and five year olds, and would come back. The owner was great, and the place was convenient, about a 15-minute drive from central Reykjavik. We stayed in Centre. It had one bedroom plus a loft reached by spiral stairs, with two full or queen beds. Smaller guests could sleep on the two sofas with the extra blankets and pillows, though I wouldn't choose that for a long stay. The apartment was in very nice shape and everything worked. The kitchenette had a fridge, stove and oven, microwave, sink, and a coffee maker with pods and a French press. We made breakfast there all week. Bonus and Kronan were within a mile, about 2 km. Both sleeping areas had blackout shades, which helped even in summer. The downstairs bedroom was small, and the loft ceiling sloped, so it could be awkward for someone very tall. The bathroom was also on the small side, but the shower was nice and the water got hot right away and stayed that way. There was an armoire with an iron and ironing board, plus hooks for coats. Laminate flooring ran throughout, and there was a table with five chairs, the two sofas, and a lounge chair. The wall TV seemed to get mostly British channels, and the artwork was by a local artist. Lots of light when you want it. The apartments are in an old woollen mill over a small river, in a village with homes and businesses. A wool goods shop, knife shop, and wooden goods shop were all a short walk away. There was also a little waterfall, which is where Alafoss gets its name, and a trail to a playground park about five minutes away. Icelandic horses were in the field across the river. Even with the shops and the school or daycare next door, the area was quiet. The only hassle was parents briefly taking the reserved parking spaces during afternoon pickup. The kids loved exploring around there.

It was clean, fully equipped, and just like the photos. The location was great too.

A nicely equipped flat with a good amount of space.

Finding the apartment was easy, and it was clean and well placed, with a gas station nearby and a Bonus supermarket very close. The facilities were unbeatable, and the service was excellent.
