The loft came with a small kitchenette, nice furnishings, and a great view through the openable glass roof vents. The owner even had their son carry our bags up the stairs, which are so steep they’re almost like a ladder. There’s a coffee bar next door that opens at 8:00, and a pizza place within walking distance. We’d booked the last room without realizing that meant a loft. No one had told us about its very steep stairs or sloping ceiling, so I could only stand up in about half the space, bathroom included. The location is great, less than a block from bus stop #8 and the central Hxxxxx cathedral.

My friend and I stayed at Freyja Guesthouse and Suites from 24 to 27 October 2025 and really enjoyed it. The room was on the first floor, between the shared bathroom and kitchen. It was a good size, very clean and tidy, and felt like home. The kitchen was especially convenient for travelers, with a fridge, oven, water boiler, and coffee maker, and it was clean and neat too. We arrived quite late after our tour, but the host had given us clear check-in instructions, so everything was hassle-free. The hosts were friendly and helpful. It’s a convenient base for walking to most Reykjavik attractions, and the nearest bus stop is stop no. 8 by Hallgrimskirkja church, where you can catch the Flybus to the airport. Thank you for hosting us. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Freyja Guest house in October 2025 for a conference at Harpa Conference Centre. Ingo and the management staff communicated well ahead of time and were very helpful with local restaurant and laundry suggestions, and arranging a cab when needed. The room was adequate for one person and could also work for two. I think they have a separate setup for a larger family. There’s a nice relaxation room on the top floor with an additional bathroom, plenty of towels, and shared kitchen facilities. If you have the time and energy to cook, you can avoid the pricey restaurants. The location seemed good, close to the bus terminal, local shops, restaurants, and museums. My only issue was the shared washrooms. I hadn’t realized that the shared bathrooms on the other floors were also available for guests to use.

Right in the heart of Reykjavik, and there was plenty of free parking by the guesthouse. The owners were so welcoming, and our clean, cozy room felt like home. We’d happily recommend this place! :)

The family running this place really added something special to our Reykjavik trip. They were friendly, helpful, and easy to trust. Our room and the upstairs lounge stayed warm, quiet, and clean, and there were free fruit smoothies in the kitchen each day. It’s an easy walk to both the central bus terminal and the middle of town. I’d gladly stay again and recommend it.
