Hotel Orkin

The woman who checked us in was incredibly nice and made a great first impression. The room had a good view and a nice strong shower, and breakfast had good orange and apple juice. There were several problems, though. Our door sagged and a screw fell out of the lock, while my mom's room wouldn't lock at all. We weren't given a washrag, and the shower curtain kept getting on us while we showered. Something at breakfast made me sick, and the WiFi didn't work. There are probably better options.

The reception team was helpful, and our rooms were cleaned daily. The hotel's location meant we were the first to get back after excursions. There aren't any refrigerators in the rooms, though, and no shops nearby.

I booked through booking.com, but my flight to Iceland was canceled after PlayAirline ceased operations without telling me until the morning I tried to check in at the airport. I contacted the hotel around 10 days before my stay, but after several exchanges they still refused a refund. The airline situation was bad enough, and the hotel made it worse. I felt the staff and owner had no sympathy at all. Be careful when booking here.

The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is simple but adequate. It's not downtown, though you can walk there.
