The rooms could use more storage. We had two queen beds, but the only drawers were two tiny ones at the bottom of the closet, and using the safe meant sitting on the floor. The hotel itself is beautiful, the location is fantastic, and the staff were terrific and always available.

Elenor made check-in easy and answered all our questions. The staff were attentive, and the rooms were clean and spacious. It was a perfect base for seeing the city, and we’d definitely stay again if we return to Reykjavík. We also drove ten minutes to the lighthouse and saw the best view of northern lights!

The charge explanation around the deposit really soured the stay. We were told the city tax had been paid in advance and that we got credit to spend at the hotel each night because they cared about their guests. We weren’t told it was a separate charge that wouldn’t be refunded. We were explicitly told the full amount would be returned after the stay, minus any charges. I asked several times to clarify, and still came away feeling blindsided and swindled. It felt like the hotel was trying to up-charge everything. I’d call ahead to confirm extra charges before booking. Before that, we’d had a brilliant 4 nights at the Edition in Reykjavik. The staff were kind and seemed to go above and beyond. We were always greeted at the door, which made us feel welcome, and the warm, spacious room had underfloor bathroom heating, lots of towels and toiletries, lovely robes, and a GHD hair dryer. The spa was well kept, with a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna, and the lovely lady there always greeted us. It was great after days exploring Iceland in the cold. The rooftop bar had a fun buzz and great views. We even saw the northern lights from up there, and the free nuts and popcorn were a nice touch. The central location near bus stop #5 also made getting around easy. Themas at the restaurant bar was a real star: kind, patient, helpful, and great to chat with in the evenings. He gave us lots of recommendations. Radek was another highlight, looking after us so well, sharing recommendations, and having great conversations. We’d hoped to return after such a brilliant stay.

Being right by the harbor made it easy to walk to Reykjavik’s main streets, shops, and cultural spots, while still having somewhere peaceful to retreat from the city. The Reykjavik EDITION has a lively but quiet lobby and bar, with modern Nordic design that feels warm and stylish. It has that mix of boutique intimacy and international polish. The staff were sweet, attentive, and well trained. They made us feel welcomed at each step, from check-in through restaurant service, with genuine warmth and care. The restaurant is a highlight too, with carefully chosen dishes, quality ingredients, and a relaxed but refined feel. Dinner could easily stretch into a long, enjoyable evening, even if you weren’t staying at the hotel. It’s the kind of modern luxury stay that makes you look forward to coming back: a cool atmosphere, strong food, excellent service, and an easy location for exploring.

The room was stunning, with magical harbor views. We felt like we’d struck gold. We did have a poor experience with a waitress in the sky bar, but Enrique more than made up for it and treated us like kings. We’d met him earlier on my birthday, and he’s a real asset to the hotel. He and the director of F&B went above and beyond. I’ve worked in hospitality, and I know things can go wrong, but the care and service afterwards were top tier. We’re extremely grateful and can’t wait to return. We’ll definitely recommend the Edition for a premium experience, especially with staff like that. My Fiancé and I had a wonderful time at the Edition in Reykjavik. We ate at Tides earlier in the week for my birthday, and had an exceptional meal with food full of balanced flavours. When we came back yesterday for our Anniversary after travelling around the island, the staff made us feel so welcome. Huge thanks to Morgan and Daniele, who greeted us with open arms and were so polite and kind. They shared tips and offered a gin masterclass, which we joined and thought was exceptional. Thank you, Edition team! Jason & Fabio
