The staff were so helpful. We left our food bag behind, and they found it and kept it in the fridge until we came back. There’s a nice common room for meeting other guests, and breakfast was a good way to start the day. The location is right at the base of Skogafoss, with a beautiful hike nearby. It’s a fun dorm-style setup, with comfortable rooms and towels provided. The shared bathrooms have doors on both the toilet and shower areas.

The breakfast buffet was bigger than I expected and pretty decent, and the staff were nice. The place seemed clean and the location was good, but there were a lot of little things that added up. Our room had a slightly strange smell, so we spent more time in the common area, which was okay but rather small. The sink in the hallway toilet didn’t work, leaving a queue for the bathroom in the morning, and it was quite a walk away. For the price, I felt we weren’t getting enough. It really seemed more like a hostel.

For a budget stay, there’s a lot here: the rooms are basic but warm, very clean, and have good views. The shared bathrooms were clean too, and the staff were attentive. There’s a small breakfast, a common room to spend time in, and plenty of parking. You’re in a beautiful area with lots to explore nearby, and this is a comfortable, affordable place to return to after a day out.

For $280 a night, I expected the property to be in much better shape. The building felt old and neglected, with a creepy, dilapidated atmosphere, and the room had a strong musty smell. The men’s WC wouldn’t flush. I told the front desk manager, but he just raised his hands, refused to look at it, and didn’t help fix it. I had to figure it out myself. I felt cheated by the management, and wouldn’t recommend this place.
