Hótel Búrfell

Bring food with you or eat before you arrive. It's a neat, clean bed and breakfast, with good rooms and plenty of parking. There is floor heating, but it could be stronger, since winters here can get really cold.

The location made the hotel very quiet, and the rooms were large. We only had twin beds rather than a double, unfortunately. The woman at reception was so friendly and suggested a place for dinner in Vik. We tried it and really liked it.

The breakfast room never got too crowded, which made sense for a small hotel with around twenty rooms. Staff kept the food topped up and were attentive, and breakfast was included. We also found the location useful: it's close to Vik, and many of the main waterfalls are within an hour's drive. The approach from the main road may feel rough at first because it isn't paved as well. There was plenty of parking. We stayed two nights and had the basics we wanted: clean beds, showers, and fairly roomy bedrooms.

The big rock out front makes for a lovely sunset, and the surroundings were quiet enough for me to sleep really well. My room was quite large, especially the bathroom, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. Checkout at 10 a.m. felt a little early, but nobody rushed us. I'd book here again.
