Like Vík Guesthouse

Hrönn was the highlight of our stay. She was always smiling, made breakfast herself, and the homemade bread and cookies were delicious. She also gave us great ideas for sightseeing. The guesthouse is clean and in good condition, on a quiet, cozy street close to the center of Vik. Everything was just right, and I'd make it my first choice for another visit.

We stayed two nights as a group of six, including two children, and felt we had to stay in stealth mode the whole time. The hostess kept complaining and showing annoyance even when the children were only playing in our room and their footsteps could be heard. We were told not to make “noise” because the two European guests were resting. As an Indian or Asian couple with young children, please be aware: we clearly felt discriminated against. The price is far too high for the facilities and breakfast provided.

It's very clean, and I'd stay again. The owner was kind and gave us useful travel tips, and breakfast was good. Just be aware that guests can't use the kitchen. There's a small fridge and microwave upstairs, though.

Our host made a lovely breakfast with fresh Icelandic bread, and we had a great time here. This was one of the best places we stayed in Iceland and Vik. I'd definitely recommend the guesthouse.
