Il Villino

I’d happily stay here again on my next trip, and it’s great that staying here supports a social project. The room was spacious and modern, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the staff were courteous. They went through all the important hotel details with me. Parking in the enclosed courtyard was free. It’s a fairly quiet spot, about a 20-minute walk from the city center, with a bus stop right outside. Sound carries between rooms, which cost it a point, though not enough to lower my 5.0 rating. The staff can’t do much about how other guests behave.

The staff are welcoming and, above all, have a real humanity you don’t find everywhere. The room was clean, charming, and well cared for. The property sits away from the chaos, yet just steps from a prime city street and very close to one of Bologna’s most beautiful gardens. It’s well connected and easy to reach from the city center. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was just right, with sweet and savory options, including homemade cake. They took my nut intolerance seriously and made me a soft, tender chocolate cake. I stayed two nights, and it was a treat to come back to a clean room with the bed made and my clothes tidied up. The room was spotless and roomy, and the whole place felt clean, welcoming, and well maintained. The receptionist was friendly and suggested a nice restaurant where I had a delicious meal. There’s private fenced parking inside the building. I’d recommend it for a longer stay too.

Between the hills and Bologna’s city center, you get a chance to enjoy the quiet of the countryside. The location works really well for both a holiday and a work trip. The furnishings are impeccable, and the rooms are simple, very comfortable, and clean.
