Hotel Zum Wolf

Free parking and a spot right in the middle of town make it easy to reach food shops and restaurants. Our room and balcony faced the small, handy bus loop, but there was no noise issue, and it was dead quiet at night. The bell tower does start at 6AM, though everyone in town seems to love it. This was our second visit to the Zum Wolf, both times for five nights. This stay was in mid September 2025, and we return for a reason. It's a first-class guesthouse we absolutely love, with great service, a wonderful range of breakfast choices, and a large, very clean comfort room. Highly recommended.

The Wi-Fi was weak, which was the only downside. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay, with clean rooms and very helpful staff.

The two-bedroom suite had a separate bedroom with an excellent mountain view, plus a larger room with a bed, couch, and an OK view. We were on the second floor, and the small bus stop behind the hotel didn't affect the view or the quiet. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was generous, with eggs, meat, cheese, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, bread, pastries, and more. There are plenty of dinner spots an easy walk away, along with a nearby gelato shop, grocery, and butcher selling very reasonably priced sandwiches. The staff were kind and helpful, speaking English as well as German and Italian. Just note this is a small hotel and the front desk isn't staffed 24/7. Our family enjoyed staying at Hotel zum Wolf and we'd happily stay again.

We left the car at the hotel for the whole week and still saw everything we wanted. The bus station for the various cable cars is a three-minute walk, and the hotel provides free tourist passes. Staff at this family-run hotel were friendly, knowledgeable, and lovely to work with. They knew the hiking trails and suggested routes based on what we wanted and our physical abilities. The hotel is a gem in the centre of Castelrotto Italian) Kastelruth (austrian). Special events take place in the town centre at the foot of the Bell tower, with restaurants and shops all around in pedestrian areas. We stayed a week to explore Alpe di Suisi and other parts of the Dolomites. The rooms were large and comfortable, with a small balcony overlooking the surrounding mountains. We had our own breakfast table, and there's a small bar for a nightcap. Highly recommend it, and I'd definitely stay here again.
