The experience didn’t match the cost. There was nobody to help with our luggage when we arrived, the reception and lobby smelled strongly of cigarettes, and Wi-Fi barely worked in the room. We only got a stable connection at reception. The rooms didn’t have basics like a coffee machine or kettle, things I’d expect even at a 3-star hotel. When I asked, the receptionist was dismissive and rude, saying that was just how things were. There’s a barista by reception, but even basic coffee costs extra. Restaurant food was average at best and not worth the price. The whole property smelled of manure, so sitting on the balcony was unpleasant. I also had a bad experience with the cancellation policy: you don’t get your deposit back even if you cancel months ahead. I first booked three nights on the Early Bird offer for $1,108.80. A personal emergency meant I had to shift my dates slightly, and the rate jumped to $1,926, almost $700 a night. The hotel never told me the price had changed; I only found out at checkout. I seriously regret staying here. I’d have preferred another hotel in Alpe di Siusi with a more flexible policy and amenities that fit the price.

The restaurant was great, and the kaiserschmarrn I ordered was lovely. I went for it because there weren’t other good vegetarian choices at lunch. We were a group of seven, but there weren’t many large tables, so we had to sit in two separate spots.

We had a great week here as a family. The rooms were comfortable, the service was top notch, and every meal was delicious. The views were fantastic too. I only wish the pool and saunas opened earlier, as a morning sauna would have been nice. The Wi-Fi is poor, maxing out at 3mgps, so be ready to unplug.

A handy stop if you’re already out on the trails and need a rest and a meal. The inside was immaculate, with a nice atmosphere, and the food was pretty good. Service was good too, and you get generous portions for the price. I’d pass on the ribs next time, but there were plenty of other good options.
