Locanda La Brenva

We’ll definitely come back. The welcome from the administration and staff was very nice, and the breakfast was amazing, fresh, varied, and full of good ideas, including honey straight from the honeycomb. The rooms are on the small side but cozy and nice. The hotel is perfectly placed after the Mont-Blanc tunnel and before Courmayeur, close to the ski departures. There was no traffic nuisance or noise.

After nearly six hours of waiting without a solution, we had to leave and look for another hotel on Christmas Eve. We were exhausted after 16 hours of travel and had our small child with us. This was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend Locanda La Brenva. The disorganization, lack of basic hospitality, and rude treatment made the experience unbearable. We arrived on December 23rd at 11 AM, but were told by the receptionist in a rude, dismissive way that our room wouldn’t be ready until 4 PM. We’d travelled a long way with our 3-year-old, and it was freezing outside at 0°C. When we asked for a cup of tea while waiting, she refused and sent us elsewhere. We also asked to leave our luggage at reception. She said there was no room and put our bags in the restaurant bathroom, which seemed highly unhygienic. We went away for a few hours and returned at 3 PM to wait. Nobody attended to us until 4:50 PM, when we were told the room still wasn’t ready. Other guests who arrived after us had received their rooms at 4 PM as promised. The receptionist, Luca, knew we had a young child and had been waiting since 11 AM, but treated us with complete indifference and was incredibly rude.

The restaurant dinner and complimentary breakfast both far exceeded what I expected, and the food was incredible. The service was top notch and the rooms are beautiful. Possibly the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely stay again if I get the chance!

That generous breakfast was an amazing way to finish our trip: fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses, meats, granola, oats, yoghurts, eggs, delicious tea, and even prosecco. After four days hiking the Mont Blanc route, our group chose La Brenva Hotel for one night of rest before heading home, and it was a perfect choice. We were welcomed warmly and offered nice hot drinks. After three nights of less comfortable sleep in the mountains, the room felt like heaven. The bed was soft, the bathroom was well appointed, and a fantastic hot shower was a real luxury after trekking. Everything was spotless, and having a kettle in the room was a treat, since that’s quite rare these days. The decor had lovely alpine character, too. My terrace had beautiful views. The hotel is in a quiet part of town but close to restaurants and shops, and there’s a bus stop just around the corner, about a 5 minute walk. The stay was a memorable end to my adventure, with comfort, welcoming service, and beautiful scenery. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, thank you Paola, Danielle, Khamid!! This is one of those places I’ll plan my next trip around so I can come back. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a restful retreat in Courmayeur.
