The room was beautiful, with modern fittings, and the ceiling mural was a lovely extra. The host was excellent. I’m American and usually drive everywhere, but I’d take a cab next time and wouldn’t drive back to this hotel. The ZTL can be a nightmare: even when it’s open, you might end up driving a long route through a parade, with mopeds darting at you, reckless bikers, and angry cab drivers. That’s not the hotel’s fault. Trust me, take a cab.

We were very happy with the large, modern bathroom, and the rooms and property matched their photos and descriptions. The rooms are simple, but clean, spacious, and nicely furnished. For a reasonable price, it really feels like a hidden gem. Before we arrived, the staff helped us understand check-in. They also gave us restaurant suggestions, general tourist information, and the usual helpful advice. They took real care with our experience in the city and made us feel welcome and at home, even during a short visit. The location is perfect, close enough to walk to the sights you’re probably here for, while sitting just off the main route and away from the worst tourist crowds. If you want an affordable, clean, welcoming base in the heart of this historic city, HomeEdo is a great choice.

Stefano, the owner, was fantastic and shared local tips on what to see and where to eat. The rooms are basic but very clean, with fresh towels every day. There’s also a kitchen if you want to bring food back. The location is excellent. Highly recommend.

HomeEdo was quiet once we were in our room, even though popular tourist areas are all around it. The location was great, and the owners were friendly and knew the area well. They shared lots of useful tips for getting around Florence. We loved staying here and would definitely return on another visit.
