Hotel Ferretti

The room was smelly, dirty and very run down, and on the second night there was no room service. We only got toilet paper after asking. The one good thing was the convenient location. We stayed two nights, and getting inside was unpleasant. It was a late check-in, and the WhatsApp number posted on the wall took almost an hour to answer. We only got into the property because two guests happened to be leaving. The reception area was cluttered, so we used another WhatsApp number those guests gave us to complete self check-in, took the key from the wall and let ourselves into the room.

The central location was the only thing going for this place. It was gross and smelly, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was no comforter, just a thin top sheet; the radiator broke and leaked across the floor, and the light kept flickering. I messaged about the light on WhatsApp and got no reply during the 48 hours we were there. There was never anyone around to help, which was incredibly frustrating. We arrived at 7pm and, if it hadn’t been that late, would have left right away. We looked at other places but decided to endure the two nights. This is not a hotel, it’s a dirty hostel at best. The location alone doesn’t make up for how awful it was. I don’t recommend it.

On our second day there was no water anywhere in the hotel for over 24 hours. No shower, sink or toilets. I called twice and texted three times. They read the messages but didn’t answer, even after the water came back that night. How can a hotel have no water? Don’t make the mistake I did by ignoring the comments. It really is that bad. I usually stay in hostels and have low expectations for hotels, but this place still disappointed me on another level. The online check-in was a mess: we got no instructions by email or message, and the number on our booking didn’t work. We waited two hours for other travelers to return. Once inside, they showed us another number, posted behind the door inside the room, and that one worked. There was fresh red blood on the bedsheet, the previous guests’ garbage was still in the bin, and leftover soap was at the bottom of the shower.

We paid 425€ through the lastminute.com website for what we thought was a Ferretti Hotel. The online photos showed a simple, clean room, but the place was disgusting, a complete disaster. We came early to leave our luggage, but nobody was at reception, so we had to pay for luggage storage elsewhere. The pension was on the first floor and our room on the second. With no lift, we had to carry heavy bags up three floors. The building was overheated, the shower was broken, and its curtain was rusty. In the morning, a group of people banged on our door and yelled. We decided we couldn’t stay in such a disgusting, inhuman place and left.
