Hotel Regency

The patio was a lovely spot for a drink, and breakfast turned out to be much more elaborate than we’d expected. The rooms were beautiful, with beds that were super comfortable. I wasn’t keen on the pillows, though there were others available and I was too tired to try them. Hotel Regency is easy to reach on foot, but sits away from the busiest area. Service was the best part of our stay. Massimo and Milo were outstanding, and I’m sorry I can’t remember the other gentleman’s name, Dino. Actually, everyone was wonderful.

Breakfast was so good, with a huge spread of tasty things, and I’m already missing it. We also had a delicious lunch at the hotel, and the garden beside the dining room, with real lemon trees and lemons, was a lovely touch. A handwritten welcome note was waiting in my room, and the bed was turned down, which was a nice surprise. Our concierge planned activities and helped with bookings and tickets. Hotel Regency is small, but has a distinctive, luxurious style. The details make it special: golden doorknobs, floral wallpaper, velvet armchairs, and old-fashioned gold room keys. Every staff member was attentive, and we felt truly cherished as guests.

The neighborhood felt authentic because it’s outside the tourist zone, yet the busy part of town was still only a 15 minute walk away. Our large room looked over a park, and breakfast downstairs was filling with plenty of options. At the boutique Hotel Regency, everything from check-in through checkout was smooth and professional. We felt cared for at a 5 star level throughout our wonderful stay in Florence, and would definitely recommend it.

The dogs had their own beds and bowls set up for them, which was a thoughtful touch. Staff were friendly, respectful, and gave outstanding service. The hotel is easy to reach on foot from Florence’s major sights. A few things made the stay less ideal: the rooms felt dated, USB outlets were only on one side of the bed, and the unique room keys were cumbersome enough that we had to leave them at reception. Water from the shower flooded the bathroom, and the doors to the rooms were thin. Breakfast was well prepared and served at convenient hours. Valet parking was quick and easy but a little pricey at 45€ a day. The elevator gave us some bumps and jerks and felt a bit scary.
