I spent three weeks in October in a studio in a smaller house on the property. Its location is very central, within walking distance of the center, museums, churches, and more. The garden is very nice, and I'm sure summer would be a much better time to stay. The studio felt muggy and damp, probably because of the frequent showers that time of year, and mildew on the wall increased while I was there. Ants showed up in the kitchen whenever there was even a trace of sugar, like near the sink. Every morning there was a pool of water on the kitchen floor from condensation on the glass front door. The kitchen equipment was poor: there was no can opener, cutting board, bread knife, or garlic press, and only two regular glasses. On the plus side, the stovetop coffeemaker was excellent.

I stayed for a month and loved it. Coming in through the beautiful entrance to my cozy room felt like coming home every day. The owner speaks English and is always available and helpful. I recommend the place with all my heart, and I’ll probably come back.
