Loggia Fiorentina

I had a really bad experience with Loggia Fiorentina. Before I arrived, I called the hotel and was told they’d overbooked and had no room for me. They wouldn’t even let me come to the hotel, yet I was still charged for the booking. Extremely frustrating and very unprofessional.

I stayed two nights in a double room. It was very spacious, with a dresser, fan, heating, air conditioning, and a private shower and sink. Towels were provided, but not shampoo, body wash, or similar things. The toilet was shared, but there were three washrooms on the floor, so that was fine. It’s an old building, so you can hear people walking around, coming in, and talking. The location is good, and check-in was easy. The man at reception was very helpful. The hotel entrance door can be tricky if you don’t know how it works: enter the code, then push the door straight away. Lots of people struggled with it, including me the first time. Whenever I had a question, I messaged them on WhatsApp and got a timely reply.

I called to change a booking for a client and was immediately shouted at by a very rude man at the front desk. He had no manners and wouldn’t listen to the issue. I won’t book this place for clients again, and wouldn’t recommend wasting your time only to be treated this way.

The location is handy for the main sights and the train and bus stations, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the shower hot, and everything clean. Check-in before arrival came with clear instructions. The room itself is dated, and the TV is mounted way too high, though at least there is one. The sockets are type L, so bring an adapter; reception can lend you one. I was told not to use my own after it tripped the breaker in the evening and cut power to other rooms, sorry! I’ve used that adapter elsewhere without trouble. Even with the hotel’s adapter, I still couldn’t charge my phone. Despite the socket problems, the hotel was absolutely fine.
