There were bodies packed all over the beach, with thongs galore and music everywhere. It’s very popular with young Italians, but it’s not my kind of place.

It used to be a nice place, but these days I wouldn’t want my son staying there, especially at night. The Milanese kids seem to think they can do anything when they come here, all caught up in their hormones. It’s really unpleasant.

A light, gentle breeze on your skin, clear blue water, and a landscape that takes your breath away. Baia Verde in Gallipoli feels like a dream day.

The water is lovely and full of fish. There are rocks at the start, then just sand beyond them. The beach could do with being cleaner, though. It’s a suitable spot for younger children.
