Lucca In Villa Lucrezia

The room’s old shutters didn’t close all the way, so plenty of light came in at night and early in the morning. We were also on the first floor with no lift, which made luggage awkward to carry. Traffic outside and other guests moving around and talking came through clearly, and the very soft mattress didn’t offer much support. The bathroom fittings and finishes felt tired and low grade, even though the room had the same eclectic look as the rest of the place. The mansion is charming, right by an entrance to Lucca’s walled town, and the historic center is just steps away. The common areas have plenty of personality, and there’s a permanent buffet with fruit and cakes available throughout the day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Still, at this price, the comfort and room quality fell short of what we expected.

Elizabeth went out of her way to make our last stop before heading home special. After checkout, they let us leave the car there and gave us a code to get back into the villa to use the facilities. The owners were so helpful: they let us check in early, provided free parking, and gave us a map of sights to see and good places to eat. Breakfast was wonderful, too. Frui Vita Travel found us great hotels for our trip, and this old villa right on the edge of Lucca centre was amazing. We’ll definitely return.

The hosts were really nice, and they even let us leave the car in the private parking while we explored the city on checkout day. There’s a lovely terrace, and the beautiful house is just outside the old city wall. Coffee, water, and cookies are always available for guests, and breakfast was nice too. We had a lovely stay at Villa Lucrezia and would definitely recommend it.

We may have just had bad luck with noisy neighbors, but hearing people come and go late into the night wasn’t great for us. We could also hear people above us pushing furniture around. Maybe felt pads on the furniture would help. The location is amazing, the staff are lovely, and our room was clean and lovely. There was plenty we liked, but the noise means we wouldn’t return.
