After I broke my ankle, I couldn't use the apartment we'd booked before, and San Marco Holiday turned out to be a great place to stay. Our room was on the ground floor, easy to get around with a wheelchair and crutches, and the shower was accessible. The staff went out of their way to help. When my husband had to go out on the first day, Dana checked in to see if I was all right or needed anything. The old city walls are very close, with a lovely walk nearby. Thank you to everyone at San Marco Holiday for making me so comfortable.

The rooms were clean and nice, as expected, and the staff quickly brought extra kitchen items when we asked, like a kettle and a sharper bread knife. My ankle sprain happened during the vacation and had nothing to do with the hotel, but Stefano, the manager, helped arrange an ambulance, picked me up from the hospital, and drove me back. He also offered us a ground-floor room so I wouldn't have to limp up the stairs. Everyone was genuinely friendly. Wi-Fi was a little shaky, though fine for casual browsing. I'd consider staying here again if I visit Lucca.

We were happy with the location, about 500m outside the wall. The self-contained studio was lovely and neatly done, and our balcony looked over the pool.

Such a beautiful, tidy, relaxing place. Dana and the owner were amazing and couldn't have done more for us. We'll be back this year. Highly recommended!

The staff were wonderful and helpful, and there's a lovely little pool. It's a great spot near the old town.
