Hotel Belmare

The views of Capraia and Corsica were wonderful, and the sunsets were spectacular from both the well-kept veranda and the breakfast room. The breakfast buffet was rich, varied, and excellent. The food was excellent too, with some lovely surprises for guests choosing half-board or full-board. The rooms were spacious and clean, with daily cleaning and basic amenities. Ours had a single bed, plus a French window opening onto a terrace where we could hang towels and swimsuits. The bathroom had a hairdryer, courtesy kit, safe, and TV. Mattresses were a bit too hard for our taste, and the rooms weren’t very soundproof. I usually sleep with earplugs, so it wasn’t a problem for me. It’s a great base for excursions. Vincenzo was a terrific source of information, drawing on his experience as a tour guide and his deep love of the island, nature, and exploration, even of the soul. There's a lot to like here.

We had a lovely time here with our hiking group. Patresi is peaceful and beautiful, with great trails and a local beach. Vincenzo and the team were kind, helpful, and very professional. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed, plus a balcony looking out over the nature around us. Breakfast had plenty of homemade choices, from jams and biscuits to cakes, and the varied menus were carefully put together and really delicious. We’d happily recommend it.

Vincenzo always greets guests with warmth and friendship, and Serena is attentive and prompt with whatever you need. The food is local and thoughtfully prepared. I’ve been back to Hotel Belmare several times, partly because it’s such a handy base for outings and walks down to the sea. The big terrace is a lovely place to watch the islands and sunset.

We had a little spot outside our room with a table, two chairs, and a lounge chair, which was perfect for relaxing. Dinner on the terrace at sunset made the food feel even better. The cooking is delicious and home-style, the local wines are excellent, and the service was spot on. Be sure to try the homemade myrtle liqueur, it’s a real treat.
