L'antica Conceria

It’s rare to find accommodation as lovely as this, with every room furnished in such good taste. The property is in a historic location, and Martino took wonderful care of us as host. Matera itself is such a beautiful gem. Everything about the stay was wonderful, and we’ll definitely return. Many thanks for everything!

L’Antica Conceria was an experience in itself, a luxury cave stay in Matera that I won’t forget. The room is carved into ancient stone but finished with modern luxury. Warm limestone walls and soft lighting give it a calm feel that makes you slow down. It feels private and sensual, and deeply connected to Matera’s soul. The spa-style bathroom is something else, with a beautiful jacuzzi bathtub set into stone, great water pressure, lovely designer fixtures, and atmospheric lighting that makes even a shower feel like a ritual. The details feel carefully chosen, elegant without being flashy. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with crisp white linens, and the room was silent at night. Surrounded by centuries-old stone and history, I slept deeply. Outside, the private terrace looks over greenery and ancient rock formations. It’s a peaceful, almost secret corner where you can sit with coffee or wine and feel far away from everything. It’s luxurious without feeling cold, historic without feeling rustic, and romantic without trying too hard. Perfect for couples, anniversaries, or anyone looking for a stay in Matera that feels authentic, indulgent, and unforgettable. I’ve stayed in beautiful hotels across Europe, and this one stays with you. If you’re thinking of booking, do it. You won’t regret a single second. 10/10.

The room had plenty of space and felt elegant, with a view and an outdoor table where I could sit. Martino was a great host and made sure I had what I needed. His restaurant suggestions were really good, and he pointed me toward the best places to see around Matera. A wonderful stay.

Martino was the highlight for us. He made a delicious breakfast and helped us figure out how to spend our days. The rooms are lovely, and the location gives you incredible views. Such a magical place to stay in Matera. I'd recommend it to anyone. Thank you!
