It felt more like staying in a home than in accommodation. The shared room was really nice, and everything was quiet and cozy. Bathrooms were large, clean, and well equipped, and there’s a fully equipped kitchen too. The supermarket is right beside the hostel, and the historic center is only a short walk away.

I loved staying here ❤️ The staff were kind and helpful, and gave us city maps and food recommendations. You can walk to the sassi of Matera from here.

The bed wasn't very comfortable, and some guests were inconsiderate, talking and leaving the main light on in the middle of the night. That's not the hostel's fault, though perhaps guests could be reminded to observe a curfew. The receptionist was very friendly, and the bathroom was lovely, with separate showers. It's a small building with just a few rooms, around a ten-minute walk from the historical centre.
