The location is handy for getting around: Theaterplatz, with many bus lines, is only about 50 meters away, and the train station is walkable or quicker by bus. There are also several supermarkets within walking distance. The apartments sit at the edge of the old town, near the banks of the Passeier River, on Freiheitstraße. It's already a traffic-calmed area, so car access is limited to loading and unloading. We parked at the Algund Winery lot, about a five-minute walk away; you can buy a ticket for your stay and come and go as you like. There are two apartments, both facing Freiheitstraße. One is a little larger and has no balcony; the other is a bit smaller with a fairly small balcony. Inside, both have everything needed and a very high standard, with the quality of a new build. The prices are quite high, though, and there are certainly cheaper options. The landlady is easy to reach, replies quickly, and can come by herself at short notice if needed. Driving gives you even more supermarket choices, of course.

We had a lovely stay in a beautifully located, clean, well-kept apartment right in the heart of Merano. The furnishings are tasteful, the windows block outside noise extremely well, and there’s a great bakery just across the street. There really was nothing to complain about. We somehow put the destination into Google and ended up in Bolzano instead of Merano. That was our mistake for not checking. The owner was immediately available, friendly, helpful, and easy to reach throughout. I’d highly recommend staying here, and will definitely book it again on my next trip to Merano.
