There are several cafés with different kinds of food and a pharmacy nearby, while a good Eselunga supermarket is about a 15-minute walk away. The apartment is comfortable for a short stay, clean, tidy and compact, with an impressive huge double bed. It also has several mirrors, a good hairdryer, and iodine and hydrogen peroxide for minor cuts. Breakfast has cereals, sweets and honey. There’s a capsule coffee machine and a microwave, but no kettle. The host was very helpful with all my questions and requests, and the woman who cleans the place was very polite. Getting there is easy: from the central station, bus 91 and trams 1 and 14 go to the city centre. Still, I wouldn’t choose this for a first visit to Milan. The area seemed a bit dirty and not very safe at night. Noise could also be an issue: you hear the trams, and loud music in the courtyard may make it hard to sleep if you need quiet.
