Casa Baglioni Milan Hotel

Casa Baglioni is a beautiful, modern hotel in a very good location. The welcome at check-in, though, fell short. We weren't greeted, and the interaction felt cold. No one really asked if we wanted help with restaurant bookings or guidance about the hotel. During the deposit process, our card details were typed into the system by hand, which made us uncomfortable. We asked if they could tap the card instead, but that was declined with little explanation. Our interactions with the woman who checked us in continued to feel unwelcoming, leaving us with the impression that we weren't particularly valued. The rest of the stay was genuinely pleasant. Breakfast staff were exceptionally warm, friendly and attentive. Housekeeping kindly checked whether we had enough water or needed anything. The bell staff were consistently helpful, polite and welcoming each day, except on arrival. At checkout we chose to pay cash, but there wasn't enough change. We understood when that happened at check-in over the weekend, but running into the same problem on a weekday was disappointing, especially since the team knew we would pay in cash. Many staff members are professional and caring, and they really add to the experience. It's disappointing that one person's attitude affected what could otherwise have been an excellent stay.

That rooftop bar is such a lovely spot, with great views. The hotel itself is a real gem, tucked into a chic Milan neighborhood close to everything. My suite had a charming terrace and was beautifully furnished. Maddalena, David, Arturo, and the whole staff made us feel at home and were outstanding throughout. A find, and highly recommended. The rooftop cocktails and the view of the Duomo lit up at night were a highlight. Breakfast was excellent too, with plenty of meats, pastries, yogurt, bread, and hot dishes like eggs and omelettes made to order. We chose this small hotel for a four-night trip with my wife because the rooms looked comfortable and the interiors appealed to us. We were happy with that choice, and lucky to be upgraded to a spacious junior suite. It had clever storage behind sleek fitted doors, a firm, comfortable bed, and lots of thoughtful touches. The bathroom Our flight was cancelled, so we arrived nine hours later than planned. I called from the airport in the US and spoke with Magdalena. When we got in the next evening, she welcomed us and checked us in quickly. She kept looking after us during the stay, with recommendations, water, and coffee. She really went the extra mile. Service was first class across the board. Glenn and the other bell staff were efficient and always greeted us when we came back, and David and Marco were informative at the concierge desk. The location worked well for shopping, the Duomo, public transport around the city, and the central station. We enjoyed our visit and plan to return to Milan.
