D'Este

The breakfast was a highlight, especially the fresh croissants in all kinds of varieties and the scrambled eggs. A great start before a long day out. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the service was wonderful. It's a little outside the main city, so the area is quiet, but there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. We did have to use the hotel's only iron in the basement laundry, which wasn't accessible until after 7am. The rooms don't have irons, so bring a travel one if you'll need it. We were very happy with our stay! ♥️

The breakfast staff were a real bright spot. They were great. The convenient location, though, comes at a high price and the rest of the service didn't feel caring. I paid over 170€ a night for a very small, dirty room, as shown in the picture, with almost no sound insulation. I could hear people talking and flushing toilets. When I politely raised this with reception, I was told they were full but would try to sort something out the next day. A different receptionist then interrupted me, raised his voice, and said these were their rooms, but I could pay extra to move to a better one tomorrow. I was very disappointed with the value for money and how reception handled it.

Even though I booked the smallest room since I was traveling alone, it was just right. The mattress was perfect, the linens felt sumptuous, and everything was incredibly clean and well kept. Breakfast was included and delicious. All the staff were helpful and patient with my broken Italian. They spoke perfect English, knew the directions I needed, and had answers to all my questions. I can't say enough good things about them.

The check-in was odd, with probably fewer than five words exchanged, but the guy at check-out was super friendly. The room itself was clean, average sized, and everything worked. Breakfast was basic but fine. The location was okay, with some restaurants on the street and other places about a 10 minute walk away, though it isn't especially central.
