Hemeras Boutique House

We arrived for check-in at 3 pm to find a building that looked abandoned, with dust, spiderwebs, and old papers filling most of the mailboxes. Some doors were open, and the apartments inside looked as if they’d been empty for a long time. Our apartment hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. We went back two hours later, at 5 pm, and it still wasn’t a pleasant place even after it had been cleaned. Used sheets had been put in the living room closet. I recorded a video. There was mould everywhere, satiny walls, a stain above the bed, dusty windows, and dust all over. We left immediately, canceled the booking, and moved to another hotel. In my 54 years, I’ve never faced anything like it. My children were horrified, and I didn’t feel the place was safe for a woman with two teenagers. Why call an apartment in this condition “luxury”? Luxury means comfort and cleanliness.

We had booked four nights at hemeres. On our first night, the door wouldn’t close properly because the lock wasn’t working. We called the accommodation manager 10 times, but he wouldn’t answer. Eventually he agreed to message us on whatsupp, saying we should push the door as hard as we could to close it. Once we did, we couldn’t open it again, and we were trapped inside for three hours. He couldn’t come himself and sent someone who was in a hurry because, he said, it was a big city. He still wouldn’t answer our calls, and begged us not to call the police to get us out. We didn’t want to stay there and asked for our money back. After three hours of failed attempts, the neighbors from the apartment next door got us out. We moved to another hotel, but he never returned our money, even though we hadn’t slept there. The apartment was also very dirty, with old things and an even older bathroom.

Disgusting.

Everything we needed was there, the location was great, and the landlady replied very quickly. We stayed at Via del Bollo 1. The only hiccup was getting inside: you need to ring the intercom, but there are two. The outer one is open during the day and locked in the evening, so only one button will let you in when you ring. I had to press every intercom button. Apart from that, everything was fine.
