Hotel Columbia Wellness SPA

The spa was lovely, and I spent a relaxing afternoon there. The hotel itself was lovely too, with really friendly, helpful staff. We ate yummy food in the restaurant, where the staff were just as friendly and made the trip extra special. I'd definitely recommend Hotel Columbia.

Definitely not four star. The rooms were small but clean, and the windows wouldn't open. The decor was terrible, especially the black rooms with red accents. Dining room service was extremely good, though, and breakfast was great.

This hotel isn't friendly for families with babies or people with disabilities. There's only one elevator for all the guests, and breakfast is on the fifth floor, so we often waited a long time for it to arrive, and it was usually crowded. The worst part was staff not helping with luggage, even when they saw me holding a baby and a stroller. The receptionist was always in a bad mood for no obvious reason. Hygiene was terrible in the bathrooms and on the floors, with dust everywhere and cockroaches on the stairs next to the breakfast area. I don't recommend it at all.

The restaurant on the fifth floor has a beautiful view, and I loved the location. But my son woke up in room 311 after his first night with five or six bed bugs around him. He'd been bitten three times. I know this probably happens in many international hotels, but when we told the staff, they first said we were mistaken and that the bugs were mosquitoes. We know what a mosquito looks like. Then they said they'd change the sheets but wouldn't move us. My husband and I had to insist that this wasn't acceptable before they finally agreed to move him. He and his friend went to room 411, where one of them found a dead bed bug on the bathroom towel after showering in the morning. Thankfully, we were checking out anyway that day.
