The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay enough that we'd definitely come back. Breakfast was very good, served in a continental style room on the first floor. Our family room was on the top floor, with one double bed and one single. Everything was in good condition, and the bathroom was a decent size. It was comfortable, though in hot weather it could get warm up there, and the air conditioner fan didn't put out much air. The old hotel sits within Montepulciano's walls, near Porta al Prato, and spans four floors. There is no elevator, so you have to use the stairs. Parking has four spaces for small or medium cars, and we managed to park behind the property. Otherwise, you'd need to drop off your cases and park outside the walls.

It's a historic building in a medieval town, so it's best to set expectations accordingly. We had a great stay: the location was excellent, parking was conveniently available, and the bed, room, bathroom, and shower were comfortable, especially considering the age of the building and town. Above all, the staff were very sweet and extremely helpful. It seemed like the best option in town.

For our honeymoon, we couldn't have chosen a better hotel. The historic building was beautiful, and our clean, stunning room opened onto a terrace with incredible views. George, Jan, and Enrica made the stay memorable. Enrica went above and beyond, arranging a great wine cellar tour and restaurant reservations, then helping with our onward journey. The people really made this place for us. Highly recommend it if you're visiting Montepulciano.

We were traveling around Tuscany in the middle of summer, and even our one night at Albergo il Marzocco felt restful and wonderful. The staff gave us a warm welcome, and because we had driven, they advised us to park near the hotel and updated the police with our plate number so we wouldn't be fined for entering the town's ZTL. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a beautiful Tuscan landscape view. Breakfast was well prepared with a sufficient spread, and they even offered eggs. The staff cooked them well, and with a nice coffee it made a great start to the day. Thanks to the hardworking team!

When I got sick during our honeymoon, the staff went out of their way to help. They brought breakfast after the usual hours and were willing to make drinks and teas for me through the day and night. We also got a warm welcome with a bottle of wine to start our honeymoon. The balcony view was breathtaking, parking was handled thoughtfully, and they helped with anything else we needed. The service exceeded what we'd expected, and the price felt worthwhile. The hotel is in a perfect spot, within walking distance of restaurants, wineries, cute shops, convenience stores, and a pharmacy. It was one of the best places we stayed in Italy, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Montepulciano or nearby villages.
