Florinda B&B

Easy to find, close to the center, and there's plenty to do nearby. This is the most comfortable place I've stayed in Nápoles. Whenever I travel to Nápoles, I'll stay here. Thanks for everything. 5 STARS.

The apartment is on the 5th floor, and the small elevators cost 10 cents to use. It's only a few minutes' walk from Napoli Central station, so the location is handy. The rooms are listed as non-smoking, but there was a strong smoke smell in the apartment, though it wasn't as bad inside the room. The pillow was too thin and uncomfortable. Breakfast doesn't start until 8:30, which could be awkward if you want an early start.

We paid in full for a three-night reservation at Florinda B&B. They emailed to ask when we would arrive, and I said 10 pm because our flight was due in Naples at 9:30 pm. They wanted an extra 20 euros for being 1-2 hours late. I thought that was excessive, but agreed to pay it. When we got there at 10, nobody was around. We waited an hour and called again and again, including the mobile number, but got no answer. By chance, a couple staying there let us in. The neighborhood felt unfriendly. We called from inside too, still no response. Since our reservation papers were at the front desk, we took our room keys so we could sleep in the room we'd paid for and contact the owners in the morning. At 8:30 am there was still nobody there. After another hour of waiting and desperately calling their mobile, they emailed to cancel all three nights and keep our money, saying we hadn't checked in. I called Booking and explained that we'd been there since the night before. They only had five or six rooms, and when I checked Booking, our room had already been booked for four days. It felt deliberate. Booking then called the owners, who finally arrived at 10:30 am. They yelled at us, accused us of being there illegally, threatened to call the police, and said other nasty things. They eventually threw us out like dogs, kept all the money, and blamed us to Booking. They never showed up when we arrived, but made a new reservation for our room.

They don't allow check-in after 20:00, and when our flight arrived at 21:30 they asked for another 20 euros. I refused, and they left us out on the street without opening the door. By chance, a couple of tourists let us in. The next day the owners came and threw us out like dogs. Terrible place, and awful people.
