I paid for a stay I never got to use, despite following the hotel’s instructions. I’d prepaid through Booking.com, and when a delayed flight affected my arrival, I contacted the hotel on WhatsApp in advance. They told me I could check in the next day. When I arrived, I agreed to pay the required deposit, but they still wouldn’t let me into my room, giving different reasons each time: late arrival, the deposit, and city taxes. Later, the hotel accused me of refusing to pay city taxes. That’s completely false. No one asked me to pay them, and I knew they were required; I had no problem paying. The communication was unprofessional and full of contradictions. I was treated unfairly and left feeling scammed. Based on my experience, other travelers should be very cautious about this property.

They took a €206 deposit and said €200 would be refunded. I was told the refund would take 15 days for a credit card, or 30 for a debit card. I used a credit card, but they returned only €140 after 42-43 business days, keeping €60 without explanation. They haven’t answered my messages for the past two weeks. I’ve seen other reviews describing similar complaints, including people being blamed for taking the AC remote. I think they may use that as a tactic. We left the room as we found it and didn’t take anything, so why keep €60? It feels like they’re taking advantage because it’s easy to trick people.
The booking information says there’s a 100% cancellation fee within 7 days of arrival. It also mentions a €200 damage fee, but this is buried many screens down under “Important Information,” starting with “When booking more than 3 rooms…” As a solo traveler, I dismissed it. The terms say the fee is credited after 14 days for a credit card or 30 days for a debit card. Fourteen days after leaving, there was no refund; after 30 days, still no contact or credit. The website photo 8 of 205 shows communal tea and coffee facilities, but my room had none. I was told reception and the room were at separate locations, 0.8 kilometres apart, but not that they provided no transport. This was my first time traveling with a prosthetic limb, and I never would have booked if I’d known. These details need to be shown in a tick box before people commit and pay. Once you’re at reception, it feels like you’re stuck with the booking and have no way to cancel. Unacceptable.
I managed to book somewhere else quickly, fortunately, but getting there was awful. I made a last-minute booking on my phone, and when I arrived with my bags, my phone was dying. I had to find ANOTHER ADDRESS to check in. They demanded a €200 deposit, which they said would only come back after 15 days, or else I had to pay the room’s “full price,” even though I’d already paid through the booking site. It felt like they were leaving me no choice. The location also wasn’t in the center, despite what the booking site claimed. Staff seemed trained to “deal” with guests: they wouldn’t let me speak and didn’t come across as well-mannered or educated. Even the taxi driver and nearby shops spoke poorly of them, saying they were already infamous for deceiving tourists. Anything but this! I’ve added a picture of the real location.
The room was dark and dirty, with leaks. They claim to be “green” but provide toiletries in plastic packaging, as the photos show. Then there was an unexpected €200 charge for a “safe deposit.” Total fraud.
