The staff were lovely and tried to help, and the location is central in the old city, near the metro. For just 10 euros a night, our two-night stay was okay, and the kitchen had a fridge, oven, and cooker. But the old building felt damp inside, with a strong smell and black mold covering the rooms and bathroom. We woke up coughing and sneezing. If you're very allergic, I'd skip it. We also found a bed bug in one of the female dorm beds after waking up. Fortunately it hadn't bitten us. The staff cleaned the whole room and replaced the sheets and blankets after we told them, and we didn't see any more bugs. Still, the room conditions are why I wouldn't stay again, even though it's an option on a tight budget.

The reception staff were friendly, and the bathrooms and toilets were cleaned well. The common areas looked like they'd had investment, the kitchen looked good too, though I didn't use it. The building itself is old. My bed was comfortable but creaked at every little movement, which obviously bothered my roommates. I had no bedbug bites. The room temperature was fine, not hot, perhaps because summer had passed, though the window was small and summer could be uncomfortable. I wouldn't call it a great hostel, but it's not as bad as many reviews suggest. It could work for a night or two if other places cost more. What I found insulting was the charge to store luggage. I had only a small, light backpack and didn't need storage, but travelers with suitcases who need to leave them for a few hours shouldn't be asked for extra money. I hope management considers how that policy makes people feel. I'm not usually one to complain, but asking for payment to leave luggage at your accommodation feels like a kind of blackmail.

Before my arrival, I saw several Google reviews mentioning a bed bug infestation that the hostel hadn't told guests about. I'm extremely allergic, so I contacted them to cancel, but they ignored my messages even though they'd contacted me shortly beforehand. I also messaged through multiple platforms and informed booking.com. They still called it a no-show and charged a cancellation fee, and haven't refunded it. Their management was rude and unhelpful, and I feel they breached health and safety standards. I wouldn't recommend dealing with them. In reply to the hostel: how could I cancel seven days ahead when you hadn't warned me about this health issue? I only found out just before the trip, and with my allergy and so many reviews warning about bed bugs, I wasn't going to take the risk. If you cared about guests, you'd tell them about these issues and wouldn't penalize them when you were the negligent party. I'm sharing a terrible experience. Do the right thing, refund the cancellation fee and be transparent.

I stayed here with a group more than six months ago, and recent reviews still mention bed bugs. For me, it was barely suitable for one night. The room was tiny, with almost nowhere for belongings and a little corner window that made it feel prison-like. The sheets were dirty, the staircase was unclean, and we also found a cockroach. None of that is acceptable at any price. What concerns me most is that the hostel seems to have done little to fix the issue. Reviews from as recently as a month ago still reported bed bugs. Management appears to dodge the topic by saying rooms are regularly cleaned and disinfected. Bed bugs can show up even in clean places, though this hostel was far from clean. Cleaning alone or waiting for guest reports can't control them. A hostel has a duty to care for guests' safety and comfort, and effective pest treatment needs professional methods repeated to prevent the problem returning. With people constantly coming and going, bugs can be brought in or hide in new places, so treatment has to happen regularly. When our group found the infestation around midnight, we called the manager, who refused to come and sent a staff member without authority to make decisions. About 20 of us were left stranded in Naples in the middle of the night. At least the hostel let us wait in reception while we looked for somewhere else. The lack of responsibility and basic concern for our safety was astonishing. I can't understand why this has gone on so long. Skipping proper pest treatments has cost them a lot of trust. This could be a welcoming place in Naples, but it needs serious work: replace the beds and mattresses, add lockers or shelves in some rooms, repaint, and take better care of the property. It's a shame guests aren't getting the care and attention they deserve.

The girl at reception was really nice and helpful, but she didn't mention the hostel has a bed bug infestation. We were bitten all over, and there weren't any sheets on the beds. The owners must know about it and seem to be doing nothing. Don't book unless you're okay with itching for a week or so.
