'costa Del Gallo' A Place to Be! Pacentro

We were a group of 13 friends staying for one night, and Luca looked after everything from dinner through breakfast. He even handled a few requests we made at the last minute, and the whole stay was well organized. The rooms were warm and clean, breakfast was generous, and the food was excellent. From here you can easily explore nearby towns and some incredible trails, which Luca was glad to suggest. We all had a great time and plan to return.

The property is lovely, well cared for, and surrounded by nature. It works well for families, especially if you need a kitchenette as well as somewhere to sleep. Our children liked the cute shower decoration with the Little Prince's airplane and planets, and Mrs. Sara's homemade jam tart was delicious. It was a shame the restaurant wasn't operating while we were there. There was a mix-up at first: the owner hadn't realized we'd confirmed the stay, and I only found that out an hour into our drive, with two small children in the car. Even so, we ended up having a great time. We hope Mr. Luca finds renewed enthusiasm with a team that feels like a new family.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and heated, and the bathrooms had roomy showers. The house has a rustic, homely feel, which was welcome during our snowy weekend. We were ten people in three rooms and, a little disappointingly, the only guests. Luca was the only person who came by, but he handled everything, from showing us around to directions for the ski slopes, dinner, and breakfast. Breakfast was the part that let me down. I care a lot about breakfast at a B&B, and this small buffet had packaged snacks, a couple of desserts that I think were homemade, two juices, cereal, melon, and single portions of jam and Nutella. Some of those were past their expiry date by over a year. Luca made the coffee and cappuccinos; after trouble with the machine, he managed to make what we'd asked for. Dinner tasted excellent, especially the chitarra pasta with tomato and sausage. We hadn't been told that the food would be put in the middle for us to serve ourselves. That was fine, but there were only three plates of pasta, each enough for at most two people, for eight adults and two separately paid children's menus. When we asked for Coke, they opened a bottle of an off-brand version that tasted like sugar water before checking whether that was okay. It wasn't a terrible stay, but these things could have been better. I hope the comments are useful suggestions for improvement, not taken as criticism.

The food and the owners' hospitality made this a real find for a restful weekend. They serve handmade pasta, local ingredients, and authentic meat cooked well, all delicious. We had a lovely time at this beautiful property, with distinctive rooms that were clean and warm. Credit to the owners for the place and how they run it!
