B&B Flamingo

We were on the fourth floor, and there’s no lift, but the apartment was great and had a huge terrace. Communication with the staff was excellent.

That last flight of steep stairs is fine with backpacks, but I can imagine rolling luggage being a struggle. The breakfast deal means a roughly five-minute walk to a coffee place, where you can choose croissant, espresso and juice, or croissant and cappuccino. A partnership with the place on the corner of the building would be really nice. Inside, there could be a few more surfaces, like a table and chairs. When it rains, you’re stuck sitting on the bed, and a coffee machine in the room would help. The shower is the main problem: it’s almost impossible to use without flooding the bathroom or getting the curtain stuck to you. The door lock is fussy too, sometimes it doesn’t want to lock, and more importantly, it sometimes won’t unlock. There are good points as well: the patio is beautiful, with views of the church and mountains, and the local train station and east entrance to the archaeological park are very close. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

The hosts were really helpful and accommodating throughout. We loved the apartment and its location, with stunning views of the Basilica from a huge private terrace. I’d thoroughly recommend it to anyone staying in Pompei.

The terrace has an incredible view. We loved staying here, and the owner was lovely and helped us with everything.
