1.3.9. BQ House

After a long flight, I went out for dinner and came back to find the keys the host had given me didn’t work. I called, and a man arrived about 20 minutes later with another wrong set. It took more than an hour for someone else to bring the right keys, so I was left waiting outside at night, tired from the flight. They didn’t even apologize. I asked the host about compensation for the inconvenience, but got no reply. Instead, they said they had spent extra money sending staff at night to deliver the keys. I was the one left dealing with the problem, and my messages were ignored. It was a mean, neglectful attitude that spoiled the trip. There were problems from the start. I waited on the street for around 30-40 minutes before check-in, then learned this was a flat in a building. The room didn’t match the photos and was in terrible condition for the price. The shower didn’t work, the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, and the shutters were broken. This was the first time I’d left such a bad review, but the service and attitude were terrible.

I had an enjoyable stay.

Warning, they canceled our confirmed booking just one hour before our flight, saying there had been a “mistake” and they couldn’t host us. I had kept in touch with them and specifically told them we’d arrive at 8:00 PM, which they had confirmed. Getting that message at the last minute while traveling with my family and young children was cruel. At the airport, while desperately looking for another place, I saw that the hotel was still showing rooms for the same dates and number of guests on booking sites. That made me suspect they’d canceled us so they could resell the room at a higher last-minute price. They seemed unreliable, unprofessional, and unethical, and left a family with children stranded in a foreign country. I’ll attach screenshots of the confirmed booking, cancellation message, and available rooms as evidence. Stay away.

The location was excellent, just steps from the city’s main attractions. At check-in we were welcomed with a smile and professionalism, then shown to a spacious, clean, comfortable double room. We stayed at BQ House Milizie for two weekend nights and had a great experience. I highly recommend it.
