Atlante Star Hotel

The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and our balcony looked out over the Vatican and Castel Sant’Angelo. We also loved breakfast at the restaurant, especially the table with a view of St. Peter’s Basilica. The terrace bar was a highlight too. We arrived around 4:30 pm as the sun was setting, and the views were spectacular. The staff were lovely and even offered to take photos for us. We picked this hotel because it’s a five-minute walk from the Vatican, and it was a great base for our first trip to Rome, with shops and restaurants nearby. What made the stay really memorable, though, was the service. The gentleman on duty when we arrived at 2:45 pm on December 10 was incredibly professional and kind, and welcomed us with a drink. We didn’t catch his name, but we’re very grateful to him. Thanks to everyone at Atlante Star, from the front desk and housekeeping to the restaurant and terrace teams, for looking after us so well. We had an incredible stay and would absolutely recommend it.

Breakfast was a real plus, with plenty of tasty options. The front desk team also stored our bags after checkout and arranged a paid ride to the airport with the hotel driver. The rooftop view was impressive, but it seemed to attract many people who weren’t staying at the hotel, so there was hardly anywhere for hotel guests to sit. The hotel is in a great location, but inside it feels crowded and laid out like a maze. Our room was at the very end of the corridor, and the carpeted hall made it awkward to wheel our suitcases there. The room itself was tiny, though manageable, and the bed was comfortable. The biggest problem was the shower. There was no hot water when I tried to use it. When I called reception, they said they’d probably run out and that I should wait. A regular hot shower is a basic expectation, so that response was pretty shocking. For a place marketed as four-star and charging around €300 a night for its cheapest room, I found it unacceptable. We made it through the stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

The people working at Atlante Star Hotel made a big difference to our visit. Reception, the team at Les Etoiles restaurant and Terrace Cocktail Bar, maintenance, and housekeeping were all friendly, helpful, courteous, and full of useful information. My sister and I loved the hotel itself too. Our room was great, breakfast was fantastic, and the views of the Vatican and St Peter's were wonderful. The location worked perfectly for us. It was my first trip to Rome, and thanks to everyone's help it turned into a really memorable one. I’ll recommend the hotel to friends and family, and I’m sure I’ll stay here again on my next visit.

The rooftop at Atlante Star is hard to beat, with its view of the Vatican. At aperitif time they serve a proper appetizer menu, not just a few little nibbles. Breakfast is good too, and the view from there is magnificent. My mom was in heaven and already wants to come back. The location is prime as well. This was my second stay, and the same welcoming staff greeted me again. I first came in August for a week of work, then returned this week for a leisure trip to show my mom Rome. I especially appreciate a comfortable bed and good water pressure, which you don’t always get, even in the best European hotels. The place is very clean, with updated bathrooms and beautiful marble stairs and floors. Thanks for another lovely stay. Please take good care of your wonderful staff, from the front desk and restaurant to housekeeping. They’re all excellent.
