Augusta Lucilla Palace Hotel

The cooked breakfast choices were pretty limited, though there was plenty of continental food. Everyone on staff was helpful, and the room was clean, with the fridge and kettle working. Our 'superior' double was roomy and comfortable, even if the bathrooms and showers felt compact. It's an old building close to the terminal station, and by UK standards I'm not sure I'd call it four stars. There's no a/c.

A four minute walk from Roma Termini makes this handy for my trips through Rome by rail. Check-in was quick, and the people at reception greeted me with a smile. The room was comfortable, with bathroom amenities and drinks in the fridge. I also liked the good coffee at breakfast, the working air conditioning, and the modern TV with Italian and English channels. The views were great, and the curtains blocked out both noise and light. Restaurants are right outside. I'll be back.

I booked just an hour before arriving because of an unexpected change, so I wasn't counting on much. The front desk staff turned out to be very kind and easy to talk to. The bathroom was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The room is small and best suited to one person, but there was enough room to move around comfortably. If you need somewhere near Termini, this is a great option.

After our cruise, the hotel made everything easy for our family of four. We arrived a little after 10 a.m., left our bags there, and went off to explore Rome. The staff suggested a nearby restaurant that turned out to be amazing. Breakfast the next morning offered lots of choices, and they arranged a private van to FCO, which was completely hassle-free. It's close enough to walk to Roma Termini. We'd absolutely stay here again.
