BDB Rooms Trastevere

The management refused to give me a full refund for describing the room inaccurately, and Booking.com isn't pursuing the issue for me either. I booked a single room advertised with “City views” and “Landmark views,” but it's actually a dark ground floor room on an extremely noisy street, with a window facing a graffiti-covered wall. Very disappointing. Zero marks for the hotel and Booking.com. Avoid.

I spent two full nights without a minute of sleep because the bar right under the apartment was deafening. This was in the middle of the week, not even a weekend, and it felt like the party was happening in my room. They showed no respect for guests needing to rest. When I complained, the manager, Sebastian, admitted there was a problem but didn't seem to care. Then they offered a small refund only if I would leave a 5-star review. That's deceptive and completely unethical. They ruined my vacation and then tried to buy my silence. Don't book here if you want to sleep.

Room 306 was the noisiest room I've ever stayed in. Street sounds went on until around 2 a.m., so I needed earplugs to get any rest. The heater was loud and kept waking me up, and the bed sagged badly in the middle and was extremely uncomfortable. I'm still having back pain after the stay. There was mold in several parts of the bathroom, which really concerned me. The small shower head leaked, the larger ceiling shower didn't work, and the curtain was broken. The pillowcases wouldn't close properly, leaving the pillows exposed, which I don't think is acceptable. I know Trastevere is busy, but I'd avoid this place if you want a peaceful stay. For the price, the quality was nowhere near a luxury experience.

We stayed in November and liked how close everything was, from monuments and shops to pubs. The attic is cozy and has a terrace. Our room was clean and looked almost like the photos. Just keep in mind it’s in an entertainment area, so summer could be hot and noisy. I’d recommend it.
