Late check-in after 19.00 costs 50 euros, and we only found that out after the cancellation period had passed. The breakfast was very poor, limited, and all sealed and packaged, with nothing fresh. Although cooked breakfast is mentioned as available on request, that didn’t happen for us. The lady became extremely irritated and yelled when we asked for more crackers. The owner and staff were very rude and abusive, and aggressive to the point of assaulting us. They seemed accommodating at first, but everything came with very high costs, higher than the accommodation itself.

You get a fair price for what you get. The accommodation is basic but very tidy and clean. The location is good, about 10 minutes from the metro station, 10 minutes from San Giovanni, and 15 minutes from Colloseum. It’s very noisy because of heavy traffic and poor sound insulation, so I wouldn’t recommend it to light sleepers.

Luisa goes out of her way to make the stay memorable, and Bells of Rome has a family feel. You can get great tips for saving money at restaurants and pay a fair price. I’ve stayed in various B&Bs in Rome several times, and this is the first one that fully met my expectations for kindness, cleanliness, and professionalism. Thanks to Bells and the owner.

The rooms are spacious and bright, with beds so comfortable calling them comfortable hardly does them justice. I was initially unsure about sharing bathrooms, but they were always impeccably clean. Breakfast in your room, with different options, is a brilliant idea, and being close to the metro and the city center makes getting around easy. The apartment is beautiful, and the moment you walk in, you notice the clean smell and clear attention to hygiene. The owner is welcoming, kind, and helpful, and gives great recommendations for places to visit and eat. I’ve also seen her speaking English with foreign guests, which is wonderful and, to me, essential. I’ve often stayed in three-star hotels while traveling, and Bells of Rome is far better. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. I’ll be back. Five stars don’t feel like enough!

Just steps from the Cathedral of San Giovanni, right in central Rome. The property is elegant, clean, and welcoming. Recommended.
