Buonarroti Guest House

A lovely local restaurant is just around the corner to the left of the guest house, with local prices. We had pasta and wine for just €13! The location is great, near Roma Termini, and the room had good air conditioning. It was a little worn, though, with a scuffed floor, a fridge that was iced up and needed a proper clean, and black mould in the shower. The shower itself was hot and powerful. There was some room noise and the bed was a little hard, but I slept well. Good for a short trip. Take the lift to floor 6, as there are no signs in it.

The location near Termani station was the only good thing. The breakfast didn't match the photos, with a stale pastry and a coffee and fruit juice ‘drink’. Noise carried from other rooms, and you could hear people whenever they flushed the toilet or showered. It was unclear how to enter the accommodation and which doorbell to use. When we called the only number and point of contact provided at booking to ask for directions, the owner hung up on us twice and was extremely rude. We were hung up on again when we called for further instructions. The host also went into our room without consent while we were out for two hours, just to turn off the air conditioning. That was unacceptable for our security and privacy. Awful experience. I certainly wouldn't recommend staying here.

The room looked like it had only been tidied up after the previous guest, and the AC was having problems. The owner was so rude, and the person at the desk was really unhelpful. On vacation in Rome, you don't want to be stressed about your hotel. Seriously, I don't recommend it. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else! Edit: The owner is a liar. I don't smoke! The unprofessional replies to bad reviews should be warning enough not to book.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was lovely and very helpful, and the room was clean. Towels and bed linen were changed regularly. It's good value and well located, about 10 minutes on foot to colosseum and 5 minutes to the nearest metro. Thank you.
