The neighborhood is quiet, and the room is spacious. The service felt like what you'd get at a five star hotel, with a warm welcome and staff who were very accommodating, especially when we checked in late at night. The Vatican is nearby, as is the metro, about a five minute walk. Carrefour is across the river, around seven minutes away on foot. Like any European city, there can be vandalism. It may look unpleasant or seem worrying, and people sometimes associate it with beggars or homeless people nearby. If you keep to yourself, avoid starting interactions with strangers, and look around carefully before setting off, you should be fine. Take care when walking at night and when crossing at traffic lights, since some motorcyclists run red lights.

The room was modern, clean, and pleasant, with a balcony, and our deluxe queen room matched the photos. The hotel is close to Vatican City and Sante Angelo, and I’m glad I didn’t cancel. Check-in was a struggle, though. There were no updates through booking.com, and I couldn’t manage the difficult online check-in. At first the staff on site gave us the wrong code for the front metal door. They did reply on watsapp, and after that things went smoothly, which is why I’m giving four stars.

This felt more like a B&B than a hotel. It’s very central in Rome and really good value, but there was no communication about check-in or check-out. Contact them ahead of time for the details. They don’t speak English, so if you don’t speak Italian, send a text message to the mobile number.

There was no reliable wifi, so I ended up using my own data. The receptionist was never around, not even to let us in. We spent our first night outside and paid for it. Sorry, but this hotel isn’t professional.
