Do-Do Navona Suites

Our room situation changed because they had trouble reaching me on arrival day, but they had another room ready within an hour and upgraded us, so it worked out fine. The staff member who set it up was incredibly kind. He showed us around the city on a map, including walking and bus routes, cleaned the room carefully, and even brought our bags in while we were out. The hotel was spotless and right in the city center, with restaurants all around. The air conditioning was great, and they arranged a taxi to the airport too. Great stay!

Avoid this place if you don’t want your Rome trip ruined. There are dozens of other rooms and hotels on the same street. Our room was really dirty and smelled awful, possibly from bathroom dampness. The sink didn’t work, so we couldn’t shower, and the air conditioning was broken. We had to leave the windows open because of the smell, but the street was so noisy that we couldn’t sleep. The beds near the bathroom were unusable because of the odor and had no blankets. There was nobody around to help, just a WhatsApp contact that did nothing.

Daniel made it easy to get around Rome. He was waiting when we arrived, suggested great restaurants nearby, and helped us plan our days and evenings. We found the best tiramisu in Italy just five minutes from the hotel. He was almost always quick to respond and arranged our ride to the train station on our last day. We stayed at Do-Do Navona for the first two nights of our 8-night Italy trip, and he helped make them wonderful. We managed to walk to all the main sights in Rome in 1.5 days. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and hot water. The facilities are modest, with no lounge, reception, or common area, though there is a handy espresso machine and a printer. I’d change some of the white lighting, but that’s personal taste. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Rome!

The constant noise at night was a big problem. There’s an engine under the toilet that starts up whenever someone in the building uses water, and it woke us every few minutes. The air conditioner didn’t heat the apartment after a cold day, it just made a lot of noise. The apartment also wasn’t clean as we expected during COVID-19 times. The toilet paper was left by the previous guests, the lavatory seat was dirty, and the kitchen hadn’t been cleaned. The bathroom door had no lock and was hard to close, the towel dryer didn’t work, and the toilet only flushed the first time we tried, then didn’t work for 5-6 hours. The host said a technician tried to fix it but failed. Don’t let the misleading pictures ruin your trip. We wouldn’t return to DoDo apartment. Be careful!
