Etruska luxury Trastevere Guesthouse

I strongly recommend avoiding Hotel Etruska in Rome. Our room was broken into during our stay and personal belongings were stolen. We later learned that two other rooms had also been robbed that night. There are no security measures, the doors are flimsy, there are no cameras, and it seems anyone can get into the building. The owner’s response was shocking. He refused to take responsibility, ignored what had happened, and showed no interest in helping. Instead of a relaxing holiday, we were left feeling stressed and unsafe. We lost valuable belongings and all trust in this place. Stay away, it’s unsafe and deeply unpleasant.

The location made everything easy: Trastevere has restaurants, bars, charming shops and streets, and it’s simple to get around on foot or by public transport. I also loved the residential, typical building, and breakfast at the local bakery on the street was delicious and gave us a taste of everyday life. Paolo and Raul were impeccable from the start, and the rooms were spectacular. It was my sixth time in Rome, and I’ve stayed in 3/4/5-star hotels, but this was easily the best room I’ve had for comfort, quiet, and size. The overhead shower had low pressure, though the handheld one worked fine. It might be nice to add a fixture to hold the smaller showerhead higher up. Everything was super easy, and I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Rome!

The room was spacious and clean, with modern fittings and even some funny disco lights in the shower. The bed was firm but comfortable, and the location was perfect, within an easy walk of the city. The owner went out of their way with recommendations and booked a taxi for our early flight the next morning. Breakfast is a voucher for the cafe downstairs, covering a pastry of your choice, coffee, and juice. It was delicious, though I wish the serving were a bit larger.

We had a very comfortable, quiet, secure room with a good-sized bed and plenty of space. The location is wonderful, facing the piazza in the middle of the restaurant district, with lots of quality options nearby. Breakfast next door was an excellent continental start to each day. Rome’s sights are within walking distance across the Tiber, and there are small supermarkets nearby for personal items. Our host was very polite and accommodating.
