The room was fairly clean and had air conditioning, but the stay was quite bad overall. The location isn’t nice, and the hotel is very old and in poor condition, with plenty of visible damage left unrepaired and unattractive furniture. The price felt far too high, even for Rome. It really shouldn’t be rated as a 3 star hotel.

The bathroom was fine, and the location was okay, with Manzoni station about a 10-minute walk away. But the room’s door was in pretty bad shape and could be shaken. Someone trying to open it a little harder could get in. We were on the 4 floor, across from another room in even worse condition. The sheets were dirty, and what they gave us as a “clean” towel in the morning had white stains on it. The one large old blanket didn’t look clean either. You might get cups for water one day, then have none the next. Breakfast was very poor: two kinds of croissant, a few toasts, two types of ham, cheese, two cereals, and a few jams.

The stay was pleasant, and Maede at reception was incredibly helpful. We were at Hotel Center 3 in January. As with most 3-star hotels in Italy, it’s basic comfort, but decent and very clean. The staff are friendly. We recommend it if you just need a clean place to rest while exploring the Eternal City.

Dishonest and rigid customer service. Don’t expect empathy. I’m extremely disappointed with how Hotel Center 3 handled this. I booked March 27-29 as a birthday gift for my girlfriend, but a sudden mandatory university class meant we couldn’t go. Franyelis contacted me asking for more details and proof so they could evaluate a free cancellation. I spent time finding official university documents and explaining that I’d even tried to move the booking to April, a much more expensive date, €400 instead of €117, to be fair. April was still available on Booking.com. They then sent a standard “non-refundable” response. Why ask for proof if there was no intention of being flexible? As a manager myself, I find that poor management and a total lack of respect for a customer’s time. Their response to my complaint was misleading too. If they only accept additional details for illness, they should say so upfront. They say they didn’t ask for “proof,” but asking for “additional details” to properly evaluate the request naturally led me to provide evidence. Why ask for my personal story if the policy is 100% rigid? They also ignored my attempt to move the booking to April. Turning away a guest willing to pay significantly more to stay there shows management prefers rigid templates over common sense and guest loyalty. It’s unprofessional to give false hope and waste someone’s time when the answer will be a standard “non-refundable” template. My frustration isn’t with the policy itself, but with the misleading communication. A professional management team should value a guest’s time instead of playing word games. Look for a hotel that cares about people, not just their credit cards.
